Rooted in classic hip-hop ethos of recognizing the communal gift of the individual style, the Northern California beat scene has forged and curated its own culture…not a sound. DAILON, who has become a NorCal staple over the last couple years, dwells in the thick of the area (San Francisco, CA), its scene, and its culture. Its not just that he's opened for acts such as Dam-Funk, XXYYXX, Mono Poly, Lazer Sword, Ras G and several others, and its not just the countless compilations he's been featured on (Waxhole, Pragmatic Theory, Euphonic Conceptions, Hot Record Societe, Dusty Records…)…its his carefully developed sound that we love. "I wanted each track to collectively narrate The Meaning and tell a story. I envisioned the titles of the tracks and the emotions expressed through the vocals in the tracks, coming together to form the message of the album + I pictured the music painting the feeling of that message. The message in it is basically that we all have our own meaning in life, and its really all about finding it and embracing it. We might struggle in the search, and sometimes fail to acknowledge it, but ultimately the meaning is to pursue that which makes us happy and do what we love. That's my meaning in life, and my message with this release + ~
